England - Peak District to Yorkshire Dales

Our first stop as we travel through the Casteton area of the Peak District is at Peveril Castle. This ruin of a 11th century castle sits on the hills overlooking the village in the county of Derbyshire. It is one of England's earliest Norman fortresses. The castle was built by William Peveril, son of William the Conqueror in 1086 and The Keep was built by Henry II in 1176.
